FUND RAISERS (WAYS & MEANS)

We received the 2021 WPS Directories from Mastercraft Printed Products & Services, and they are now being delivered.

With the increased number of people receiving the COVID-19 vaccine we are beginning to open some of the WPS activities that were closed last year by the threat of the virus. Refer to the Schedule of Events on page 5. This organization exists and will continue to exist almost entirely on donations until fund raisers can resume. Thank you for your past donations. Please
keep up the donations.

We have the WPS Raffle tickets in the office and will deliver them with your June newsletter via U.S. Mail. This year’s Raffle will include a NordicTrack Treadmill T6.5S for first prize and a
self-propelled lawn mower for second prize. The first prize winner will have the option of exchanging his/her prize for the second-place prize if he/she is in attendance at the drawing. As in
the past, the Raffle tickets include a buy one/get one free dinner at Spring Creek Barbeque.

If you buy something from Amazon, make sure you are logging into www.smile.amazon.com and “Supporting Tarrant County Widowed Persons Service, Inc” is displayed. If it is not, refer to Donation Options on page 3, step 5.

Remember, each time you purchase items from Kroger or Tom Thumb you must enter your alternate ID (your phone number) for WPS to get a donation. Check your Kroger receipt
to verify that “Tarrant County Widowed Person Services” appears at the bottom of the receipt. If it does not, you need to re-enroll. Refer to Donation Options on page 3, step 3.

If you have never applied to Tom Thumb Good Neighbor Program, refer to Donation Options on page 3 step 4. This is another way we receive donations.

Don’t forget to wear your WPS badges at all WPS sponsored events! We want to know who you are!

OFFICE HELP NEEDED! The WPS office urgently needs volunteers during the week to help answer phones and enter data into the computer. No prior experience is necessary – a willing spirit is all that is needed. On-the-job training will be provided. Contact Margaret Davis at the WPS office (817-551-2922) if you can help.
