WAYS & MEANS

​Dances: Due to an internal meeting at the Arlington Elks Lodge, the January dance this month will be held on Wednesday, January 15 (third Wednesday), instead of the usual second Wednesday. Debbie Smith and Eula Plummer will be hosting this dance. Ann Barnes and Ruth Turner will host the WPS DJ Dance on Friday, January 24, at the Burleson Senior Center. See the attached flyers.


"Meet and Eat" Fundraiser: Ann Barnes is hosting a fundraiser dinner at On the Border, 13005 South Fwy, Burleson, on Monday, January 13, at 3:30 PM. WPS will receive 20 % of the cost of your food bill. The dinner is open to everyone, but you must be there by 3:30 PM. Bring the flyer with you and inform the staff that you are with the WPS group. See the attached flyer.

Donate 2 Impact: Our next WPS Donate2Impact period is January 20 — February 2. Participation during the last period was outstanding. Please participate if you can. See the attached flyer.

​Directory: We are updating the WPS Directory database based on the 2025 Directory input sheets we have received and hope to have the results to the printer by the end of January. Thank you for participating in this fundraiser.

Travel: First Travel of Burleson has arranged a WPS sponsored Caribbean Cruise for October 25—November 1. Interior rooms cost $1,728 for 2 people. A Balcony State Room is $2,368 to $2,428 for 2 people. The prices include taxes, fees and port expenses for 2 people. See the attached flyer for details on the cruise.
 

First Travel of Burleson is also arranging a bus trip to Fredericksburg on March 18—20 and a December 1—5 bus trip to Branson, MO. Details of the bus trips will be announced later.

Fundraising: Please start the new year with WPS in mind. Although our member participation in events has begun to increase, we must still rely heavily on Donations and Memorials to cover our expenses. Please consider Donations and Memorials to help. Thank you as always for your participation.
