ACTIVITIES MESSAGE

April 2021

We received the proof copy for the 2021 WPS Directory.  The directories are now being printed by Mastercraft Printed Products & Service.

If you still need to register for a COVID-19 vaccination, even if you do not live in Tarrant County, you can register at the link below.  Johnson County is coordinating with Tarrant County in administering the vaccine.  Let’s all get vaccinated so we can get rid of this disease and be able to meet with members again.  To register for a COVID-19 vaccination go to tarrantcounty.com/covid shot . Be sure to read the instructions in order to be aware of what to expect.

I have purchased the prizes for this year’s October WPS Raffle, and I am working on the update of the Raffle tickets. This year the first prize will be a NordicTrack Treadmill T6.5S.  The second-place prize will be a walk behind mower.  These prizes are more than double the value of previous years’ prizes.

Our donations and memorials have dropped off from what they were in previous months.  Please continue to support our organization since we have not been able to conduct any fund-raising functions due to the pandemic.  If you have not completed your income tax return yet, don’t forget you can deduct an additional $300 if you do not itemize and you made a cash donation to a qualified charity such as Widowed Persons Ser-vice of Tarrant County by December 31, 2020.

If you buy something from Amazon make sure you are logging into smile.amazon.com, and “Supporting Tarrant County Widowed Persons Service, Inc” is displayed.  If it is not, refer to Donation Options on page 3 step 5.

Remember that each time you purchase items from Kroger or Tom Thumb you must enter your alternate ID (your phone number) for WPS to get a donation.
Check your Kroger receipt to verify that “Tarrant County Widowed Person Services” appears at the bottom of the receipt. If it does not, you need to re-enroll.  Refer to Donation Options on page 3 step 3.

If you have never applied to the Tom Thumb Good Neighbor Program, refer to Donation Options on page 3 step 4.
