THOUGHTS ON RECOVERING

Many people think that if they stay busy, busy all the time after the death of their spouse they can outrun the grief. But it doesn’t happen that easy. You have to work at marching thru it, making choices. Choices that will take your life in a direction you can feel good about. When you arrive at this place, you will know it not by the smile on your face, which is good, too, but by a gladness and a sense of happiness in your heart. Yes, this does happen! “In three words, I can sum up everything I have learned about life... it goes on. (Robert Frost)

You have a choice... It is comfortable, even though miserable and lonely, to curl up and let the world go on without you.

Choose to make a new but different life. You owe this to your children, you owe it to your friends, to your family and to the wife/husband who died.  Most of all, you owe it to yourself.  Commit to living.  Let a Support group show you the way.

SALT (Seniors and Law Enforcement Together)

Remember we are still collecting cell phones and chargers. These are sent to a company that refurbishes them to function on 911 only for those (especially seniors) who do not have a cell phone. Thank you all who have remembered to give your old phones to us.

POEM

‘Sometimes it Seems’
They’re just away one moment…
And now our hearts all wish it were so,
Another chance for saying all we meant to…
Just one more hug before the letting go.

‘Sometimes it Seems’
They’re still right here beside us,
Our memories are so powerful and clear…
And it’s a comfort knowing that in some ways
Those we loved so much are always near.
