CRUISE NEWS! Cruise News– We are still taking reservations for the Hawaiian cruise on 9/18. For those not up to a 7 day cruise we have a 5 day cruise out of Galveston to Progresso & Cozumel also leaving on 9/18. Deposits for both cruises are due on 5/21 and finals on 7/5. MARCH 17th, ST. PATRICK'S DAY is the date set for our first concert/dance fundraiser. As the flier on the back of the calendar says, it will be the band Last Call at the Lion's Club building on Craig Street. Mark your calendars....and Think Green! $10 by 3/15/2010. We will find out in 4 to 6 weeks how successful money-wise our event at Fish City Grill was. Hurray for the many supporters who came. Big thanks to all who helped, including Joan Reath, Arlyne Clements, Bob Havens, Nell Huebsch and Suzy-Flynn. Thanks also goes to the staff for the fine food and good service. Judging from the scene, it WAS a great success. Remember how easy it is to help WPS when you and other supporters shop at Tom Thumb stores.” With a quick stop at their office, to give them the WPS number, 2149, along with your Tom Thumb card, and that easily a percent of all your purchases will be donated to WPS. |

The SALT Council of Tarrant County’s purpose is to work with senior citizens, their families and the public to reduce crime against senior citizens. It provides an opportunity for the exchange of information between law enforcement and the senior citizens. To meet these goals SALT has a speaker’s bureau that is free to senior groups to keep them informed. If you belong to a group that would like an officer to come and present a program, just call 817-884-1287. If you receive a voice mail recording, leave a message and your call will be returned. Also, SALT is still collecting cell phones and chargers, so if you take one to a meet and eat or other function of WPS, give it to the host or hostess. |
